Less than an Hour to Nether

Image
I was inspired by AngelaManchee's Speeding to the Nether Experiment and I wanted to see if I could do the same in under one hour. I just made it in 59 minutes, 15 seconds. I would have been faster if I hadn't been ambushed by two skeletons towards the very end. This is how my new Survival mode game started. I am staring at at tree. I guess that is as good a start as any because I needed wood immediately!      When I looked around, there were trees everywhere! Within a very short time, I had my first set of wood tools completely crafted and was ready to start digging deep down into the ground.  It wasn't too much later than that when I got lucky and found some coal. I used this along with the sticks I crafted from the wood to assemble plenty of torches. I also upgraded my pick to a stone pick. The next step: search for some iron!  I did find a lot of iron alongside my staircase tunnel, and upgraded my pick to Iron for faster digging a

Early Morning in Minecraft

The sun rises in the early morning in Minecraft. As a new day dawns, and the zombies and skeletons prepare to die , I rise from underneath the earth, where I have been busy mining for ore in the dark of the night. Soon the sun will be high in the sky, and I will begin my "above ground' chores. Today could be a day for exploring. Or I might go fishing by the river. Some Neat Minecraft Wallpapers

Image
This is a little collection of a few neat Minecraft Wallpapers. I don't have the ultra-high resolution versions, so these won't fit your desktop if you have a super-huge monitor. They are all great scenes from Minecraft. Many of them use special texture packs and shaders to create a special look. A pastoral medieval scene with a village house and a giant stone castle carved into the side of a mountain.   A very modern wooden home with multiple terraces. Steve runs from an iron golem after breaking his diamond sword. An Enderman sneaks up on Steve while he is fishing. If you like these, there are lots of places on the Web to find more Minecraft Wallpapers, and many of them in high-resolution. Two of the best ones are: NovaSkin Wallpaper Access
