Minecraft Dungeons is Coming

Image
In just a little over a month, Minecraft Dungeons will be out! I'm super-excited to see it released. Read about Minecraft Dungeons release Pre-order Minecraft Dungeons The game borrows a lot from classic Minecraft, but it's an action dungeon crawler and epic adventure. Expect it to be much faster-paced than vanilla Minecraft, which defined the sandbox/creative era of gaming. Will Minecraft Dungeons resonate with long-time Minecraft fans? It will with me! But it might be too "different" or "limited" for some people's tastes. But that's ok, because the original Minecraft isn't going anywhere. Mark your calendars for May 26!

Let's Get Enchanting

Image
I need to upgrade my crappy regular iron armor in Minecraft and the best way to do it is by enchanting. Enchanting is one of the most complicated mechanics in Minecraft and I'm still wrapping my head around it. Btw, this isn't my setup in the picture above. Image credit goes to Ratliff . But he messed up and put the enchanting table too close to the bookshelves. Even I know that. At the highest level, IV, it absorbs 16% of damage. It doesn't sound like much, but it adds up, especially in a gnarly fight! The other enchant I might use first is Respiration, which adds to your underwater breathing time. I already have a Turtle Shell helmet that I assembled when I built my own tur...

Taming a Pack of Wolves

Image
My next idea in Minecraft is to tame and breed a pack of wolves and then use them to fend of a pillager raid on a village. I've tried to survive a pillager raid on my own but even after stocking up with enchanted weapons and armor and lots and lots of arrows, I still can't survive all the different raids. I got the idea from reading about how to tame a wolf . I will tame two wolves and then breed them to make little wolf pups. Once those grow and I have a pack of 5-7 wolves, I think I'll be ready to take on a village raid. This guy did it with a team of four wolves, but he had some help with potions and a Totem of Undying .
